Your Goldendoodle puppy may not eat up to 24 hours after going home. All dogs and puppies refrain from eating when they are moved to new environments. My personal theory is that it is instinctual so that their heightened awareness prevents death by predators or other wild dogs (if they were wild dogs) until they are familiar with their surroundings and feel safe enough to feed. I may or may not be right about why, but they definitely all do this. The sooner they feel safe, the sooner they will eat. Please free-feed your Goldendoodle puppy up to 3 days so that they are aware of the location and availability of the food. Then you may move to a twice a day feeding schedule. They have been used to being free-fed in a group.
