How Big Do F1 English Mini Goldendoodles Get?
F1 English Mini Goldendoodles get to be 25-30 lbs. They are an English Golden Retriever bred to a mini poodle. Many people think that English Golden Retriever puppies are going to get huge based on their paw size. However, English Goldens develop faster than Americans and they end up shorter and stalkier. Same goes for F1 English Mini Goldendoodles. They develop faster than some breeds and trend bigger earlier. But they stop developing earlier and mature earlier.
Mini Goldendoodles typically grow to a size between 13 to 20 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh between 15 to 35 pounds. Their size can vary depending on the specific genetics of the Miniature Poodle and Golden Retriever parents. Here's a quick breakdown:
-
Height: 13 to 20 inches tall at the shoulder
-
Weight: 15 to 35 pounds
They are a great size for those looking for a smaller dog that still has the wonderful traits of a Goldendoodle.
What color are F1 English Mini Goldendoodles?
F1 English Mini Goldendoodles can come in a variety of colors, because of the coat colors of their English Golden Retriever and Mini Poodle parents. Common colors include:
-
Cream: A very light, almost white color, often inherited from the English Golden Retriever.
-
Gold: A range from light gold to dark gold.
-
Apricot: A soft, peachy color.
-
Red: A deeper, richer reddish-brown color.
-
Black: Less common but possible if the Poodle parent carries the black gene.
-
Chocolate/Brown: Another less common color, more likely if the Poodle parent has a chocolate coat.
Some breeders produce coats that can also have variations and combinations of these colors, leading to unique shades. However, our English F1 Mini Goldendoodles are the same color and coat type every time. They are wavy, not curly and the texture is soft and fleecy.
Do F1 English Mini Goldendoodles Shed?
F1 English Mini Goldendoodles are generally low shedders or non-shedders, but the amount they shed depends on their genetic traits. Poodles tend to shed very little, while Golden Retrievers shed more, so an F1 English Mini Goldendoodle's shedding level will be somewhere in between. The reports we have got back from breeding 15 years is that 90% of our puppies do not shed at all and 10% shed 10%. It was good enough feedback to decide that we will only breed F1 Mini Goldendoodles. They are far superior in health, beauty and temperament.
F1 English Mini Goldendoodles can also be considered hypoallergenic, which means they're good for people with allergies or who don't like dog hair. However, no dog breed is 100% hypoallergenic, and F1 English Mini Goldendoodles when puppies will shed out their baby coat just like a poodle until about 8 months old, when their adult coat comes in.
They then become wavy fleecy, soft and forever cuddly coats.
